WIP: In The Middle of Everything is The Sun

In 2025, 23-year old Mae Mercado enmeshes herself with one of the biggest tech luminaries in the world: NicTech. There, Mae encounters Helix Sage, a humanoid robot linked to a non-sentient fleet manufactured to displace millions out of a job. At odds with grappling to save humanity, Mae and Helix embark on a quest to prevent a humanoid annexation leading them to face NicTech’s adversarial CEO Eli Maben, the looming questions surrounding what defines personhood, and casted doubt whether their relationship can sustain itself against an ever-evolving world in tandem with artificial intelligence.

In The Middle of Everything is The Sun is an ode to the existentialism of defining our place in the world, grief, unwavering female friendships, and a foreign love story feeling familiar to the soul.
